Trial of full archive of Royal Society publications


We now have a 60 day trial to the full archive of Royal Society Publishing

Their online journal collection is composed of seven peer-reviewed scientific publications, covering the biological and physical sciences, as well as the history and philosophy of science. Their digitised archive reaches back over 300 years (1665) and includes landmark papers from authors such as Isaac Newton, Michael Faraday, Alexander Flemming, Jams, Watson, Francis Crick and Stephen Hawking.

EMBiology Trial


A trial to EMBiology 1980-present is now available until 18-Apr-2008

A global biology indexing and abstracting database from Elsevier, EMBiology complements and extends EMBASE coverage in the basic biological sciences. Coverage extends from Biochemistry, Microbiology and Genetics through Biotechnology, Cell & Developmental Biology and Toxicology, to Plant Science, Agriculture & Food Science, Animal & Veterinary Science, and Ecology & Environmental Science.

EMBiology Quick Facts:

Journal coverage: more than 2800 active titles, including Trade Journals and Electronic-only Journals (books, patents & conference abstracts are not included)

Global coverage: cover-to-cover for all titles

Backfile to 1980: 4 million records

Current growth rate: 250,000 records/year

Abstracts: currently 85% (about 70% for the whole database)

Oxford Scholarship Online Trial



Oxford Scholarship Online is a vast and rapidly expanding cross-searchable library which now offers quick and easy access to the full text of over 1,900 Oxford books, including Biology, Mathematics, and Physics. Trial access to this database will expire on 20th March 2008 and is UCC access only.

Referex E-book Trial



Referex
is a specialized electronic reference database, comprising of six editorially crafted collections of professionally focussed e-books which bring together key sources of reference material. The library already subscribes to two other of the EI (Engineering Information) collection, INSPEC and EI Compendex, available via our Electronic Resources list. Referex is fully searchable and instantly delivers full-text content of over 1,600 e-book titles across the following collections:

SPIE Digital Library Trial


The SPIE Digital Library is the most extensive resource available on optics and photonics, providing unprecedented access to more than 230,000 technical papers from SPIE Journals and Conference Proceedings from 1990 to the present. More than 17,000 new research papers are added annually.

SPIE DL is hosted by the American Institute of Physics (AIP) as part of its Scitation platform.
